Keywear Pro Keyboard Cover Large Review

I wanted this to protect my electric piano that is assembled at stays at home most of the time. I have been really pleased with it. I had a non fitted cover before this, which I could walk past and it would fall off. My curious 2 1/2 year old doesn't even bother this sturdy cover. Worth the money.

On-Stage Stands Heavy-Duty Deluxe X ERGO-LOK Keyboard Stand Review

On-Stage Stands Heavy-Duty Deluxe X ERGO-LOK Keyboard Stand
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have this item in my shopping cart in Amazon.com for a couple of months already waiting for a sale.
Finally, the sale came last week when the price was lowered by the seller.
I completed the transaction immediately.
It came in a nice box with the parts ready to be assembled.
It's light assembly took about 5 minutes.
The slots and screws were color coded so there's really no need to read the instruction.
The stand is so strong I could literally lie on it.
It supports my newly purchased Yamaha CP33 (40 lbs) nicely and won't shake while playing (being on carpet).
It can easily adjust the height (the very reason I bought this ergo-lock model) with a press of the adjust lever.
This is one of the best stands I saw in the stores.
Highly recommended.
We have two more of the same stand in our church. It is great.

Planet Waves 120V AC 9V Power Adapter Review

Planet Waves 120V AC 9V Power Adapter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Nothing makes a customer more mad than to buy something that just doesn't work. Well,....that's not the case here. This power supply is well made (durable) and performs to the specs supplied. I guess a person can take the risk of buying a variable output adaptor with the proper power pin configuration,...but why go to all that trouble? This product lives up to it's calling. Besides, who wants to keep changing batteries in the Stobe Tuner (Planet Waves) when this power adaptor is easy to plug in and forget. I gave it a 5-star rating because the price is fair, the product is well made and works, and it was shipped well within the promised time. By today's standards, that's as good as it gets.

Yamaha SK88 Survival Kit for 88-Key YPG Series Keyboards Review

Yamaha SK88 Survival Kit for 88-Key YPG Series Keyboards
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I thought, "Three year extended warranty? Keyboard Cover?" This sounds great, especially at the discounted price.
I imagined a cover that would cover the "keyboard", the keyboard being the entire YPG-635. I've submitted some user photography to show you what it actually covers, and I see that the user images are already accepted and in the description. The word "Keyboard" has multiple meanings when you talk about an item like this. The whole thing is a keyboard. And the electric piano has a keyboard, the area which the keys are in. In other words, the keyboard has a keyboard. I imagined a keyboard cover that covered the first keyboard.
But then I got the box and opened it, and it seems that what they are covering is the second keyboard, the keyboard part of the keyboard. (Whew!) It is a nice heavy felt cover and it might lay flat after a few weeks. Right now it is a wrinkled felt cover. I have no idea how it would stand up to ironing. Since the edges are pinked (again, see photo) rather than whipstitched or beaded I'm scared to wash or iron or handle it much beyond laying it out and picking it up.
But the most important particular that the product description is wrong in is that the extended warranty only adds one year to the original one year factory warranty for a total of two years. The package insert is very clear about how long my new warranty is and it disagrees with what the item description in Amazon says.
I have yet to look at the DVD that came with it or to use the PC software. If and when I do, I'll publish an addendum to this review. I felt that accurately describing the cover and the length of the warranty would help the most people and that an accurate description was needed quickly. The downgrade to two stars was because of the quality of the cover and the incorrect or ambiguious description. It would have gotten three stars if the description was correct and clear. And, this would further be adjusted by the usefulness of the DVD and software, which I have not yet evaluated.
Were the felt cover of better quality (that is, if it had a beaded edge and if it sat flat) I would be starting this review at 4-5 stars.
OK, I've had time to look at the disks. The DVD that shows you how to use the various features of the keyboard is excellent. The disk of software is pretty much junk. There are 2 lite versions, neither of which run on my Vista system, and some demo versions, none of which I cared about. This is the sort of stuff you can download from web sites for free. I know what a midi device is, and so the short featurette on how to hook up your keyboard didn't mean anything to me - and as far as I can tell, all of the YPG series keyboards use USB hookups, so the extra stuff on usb-Midi adapters just distracted from what you'd need in a SK88 Survival Kit.
I will point out that the Yamaha web site also claimed that the warranty was extended for two years, so if this information was copied from that web site, it disagrees with the contents of the box.
In any case, my 2 star review stands. The cover is still not sitting flat - it looks worse than it did in the photos.

Yamaha YPT-200 Portable Keyboard with Portable Grand Function (no AC Adapter) Review

Yamaha YPT-200 Portable Keyboard with Portable Grand Function (no AC Adapter)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I am very happy with this purchase; Some added features would have made this product a fabulous buy though.
cons:
a) The LCD display is not backlit and has a small viewing area. It is extremely difficult to read it.
b) The keyboard body has notations for each key, but is engraved on the body, and it being the same body color, it is impossible to read those notations - even in the day light.
c)It cannot record your voice. It is important if you want to compose and transmit through midi.
d) In the learning section, it would have been helpful if there was a 'slow' playback function too.
Pros:
a) Light weight
b) Grand piano is an excellent feature. Very good for piano learners, until they buy full size piano of their own.
c) Great features.
d) YESS learning suite is simply fabulous.
This model is far better than casio 496, which I was planning to buy earlier.
Great purchase...I like it.

Designed for the beginner or music hobbyist, the Yamaha YPT-200 Portable Keyboard with Portable Grand Function represents the first model in its price point to include complete General MIDI compatibility and functions that, up until recently, could only be found on higher-priced units and professional workstations. With a broad set of features and functions, including Yamaha's Y.E.S.5 Education Suite, this is not only a truly affordable portable keyboard that allows you to play almost anything you can imagine, but that can act as your own personal music teacher as well. The Yamaha Y.E.S.5 features 102 built-in songs for you to learn to play, separated into left- and right-hand parts and providing seven levels of lessons plus a convenient chord dictionary. The three keyboard lessons for each hand allow you to listen and learn the melody or rhythm of a selected song. A timing mode allows you to play the melody or chord by pressing any key using the correct timing. A waiting mode automatically stops the playback of a song until you find the correct note and then continues. Y.E.S.5 includes "lesson grading" that monitors your progress as you practice each of the timing and waiting lessons and gives you feedback. Finally, the chord dictionary shows you how to play chords and tells you which chords you are playing by displaying the notes and chord-name on the LCD screen. The Yamaha YPT-200 also allows you to take advantage of the Internet on a whole new level. This unit includes General MIDI (GM) compatibility with a MIDI in and out connection to your computer giving you access to thousands of MIDI songs and files on the Internet. This portable keyboard features a built-in, fully-adjustable metronome, additional jacks for a sustain pedal, headphones for private practice, and stereo speakers that have individual amplifiers with stereo-sampling technology. The YPT-200 also includes 61 standard keys, a large LCD display screen, an auto-accompaniment with 100 styles and four variations to choose from, 134 MIDI compatible voices, and it allows a maximum of 32 notes of polyphony. The easy-to-use panel and function controls allow you to create or choose from almost any sound, such as trumpets, violins, drums and even a choir, giving you a virtual orchestra at your fingertips. The keyboard weighs only nine pounds and 11 ounces. User's should note that the UX16 MIDI/USB converter necessary to connect the keyboard to a computer is not included.

Yamaha YPT-310 61 Full Size Touch Sensitive Keys with 500 Tones and 32-Note Polyphony Review

Yamaha YPT-310 61 Full Size Touch Sensitive Keys with 500 Tones and 32-Note Polyphony
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Reviewers have a wide range of opinion regarding this keyboard, with some claiming it is terrific and others that it is awful. This note attempts to reconcile these different claims and help potential buyers make the best decision.
1.The YPT-310 is functionally identical to the earlier model YPT-300. The new model changes simply made the device more environmentally friendly ("greener").
2.The YPT-310 is not a piano. A piano doesn't need batteries or an adapter that plugs into an outlet. If you are willing to pay thousands of dollars, you can purchase a piano that produces wonderful sounds, and the key action has a good feel. On the other hand, pianos take up a lot of room. They need to be regularly tuned. They are sensitive to humidity and temperature. Eventually a piano will need to be repaired. The sound you create on a piano can bother your neighbors. In addition, pianos produce only one kind of sound, that which is generated by hammers striking strings. (Some people have done bizarre things to pianos, such as putting tacks into the hammers, but most of us are not going to make these modifications).
Pianists who have played a great deal of piano music, who have no interest in expanding their palette of musical tone color, or who have neither the time nor desire to learn about the controls on a modern synthesizer are unlikely to be happy with the YPT-310. On the other hand, someone who appreciates the tone color of different instruments and is willing to invest a small amount of time learning about synthesizers, will find that this keyboard opens up a whole new world of musical possibilities.
3.Sustain Pedal (foot pedal). The sustain pedal allows the sound to continue after you release a key. This is critically important; without a sustain pedal, you have only half an instrument. This keyboard does not come with a sustain pedal; you will have to purchase it separately. The pedal costs very little, and the cheapest one (about $15) can be glued to a piece of wood to keep it from moving around under foot.
Note: when you power up the YPT-310, the keyboard software "assumes" the foot pedal is not depressed. If the sustain stops when you press the foot pedal, that means you had it depressed when you turned on the keyboard.
4.Sound Quality. There are three ways to produce sounds from the keyboard. You can use the speakers that are part of the device; you can use the headphone jack and the analog signal available there to externally produce sound; or you can use the MIDI interface to have external equipment generate sound based on key press characteristics. The YPT-310 is capable of producing fabulous sounds as well as horrible sounds. The following notes give further details and make some specific suggestions on how to produce the more pleasing sounds.
5.Speakers and Headphones. The built-in speakers have very limited bass response; that is, the low frequency sounds (sounds with a low pitch) are weak. Ironically, some of the most beautiful sounds the YPT-310 can produce are in this low frequency range. The violin (instrument 53), flute (instrument 84), and Vibraphone (instrument 101) are examples of this. In order to hear these sounds, rather than the poor imitation coming from the built-in speakers, you will need headphones or the ability to connect the headphone output jack to a more capable sound system. If you want to listen to some of the beautiful sounds this instrument is capable of, check out the 30 second samples of the music found on the Time album at http://cdbaby.com/cd/peterbaum. The voices from the keyboard were sent via the headphone jack to a computer where they were mixed using multi-track software. Typical of professionally mastered CDs, post processing was performed on some of these tracks using software; for example, echo effects were sometime used and multiple tracks laid down to create ensembles. However, the instrumental voices heard on every single track were generated by this inexpensive keyboard. The quality of the 30 second samples isn't the best possible, since they are in MP3 format, but you will hear some amazing sounds if you are using headphones or a good speaker-driven sound system. The tracks on the CD itself sound better. More information about the YPT-310 voices used on each track of the CD can be found at http://mysite.verizon.net/aesir_research/Peter%20Baum%20-Time-%20Notes.htm).
6.Listening Environment. Your music listening environment can dramatically change how the music is perceived. For example, most cars are not good places to listen to music, especially if you don't use headphones. If you are composing music, your sonic environment can also influence the content of your compositions.
7."I Hate Synthesizers." There are some people who simply hate the sound of synthesizers; they often describe the sound as harsh, mechanical, or cold. In addition, there sometimes is an unnatural, high frequency component to the sound. I agree that some sounds from some synthesizers have these characteristics, and I will even agree that many of the sounds from the YPT-310 sound this way. However, I also found very pleasing sounds among its many voices. Even the sounds that are less than pleasing can be put to good use. I found that some voices, such as the bassoon, could be made warmer by using the built in dual voice function to add an accompanying string section. I also found other sounds that became important compositionally, even though they sounded cold as solo voices.
8.Finding Beautiful Sounds. Because of the way this synthesizer generates different notes based on a sound sample from a real acoustic instrument, the tone quality (sometimes called tone coloration or harmonics) can depend on the pitch of the note. This is also true of real acoustic instruments, the bassoon being a striking example. As I mentioned previously, the violin, vibraphone, and flute sound especially good in their low registers on this keyboard. The "Clavi," "Baritone Sax," and "Fretless Bass 4" voices do too. Some instruments sound best when played in a range that is higher than normal. For example, the Oud sounds like a sweet, tiny bell in its upper register. If you want to produce a variety of useful sounds, you have to be willing to explore the keyboard by sampling different voices in a variety of registers and other settings.
9.The Bottom Line. For around $150, this is an amazing instrument. It can be used to produce professional quality music, if its limitations are respected and its strengths taken advantage of.

Yamaha's 61-key YPT-310 is a great way to get started with keyboard/piano playing, featuring 61 touch-sensitive keys, 482 voices, a music database and stereo speakers. Plenty of fun sounds and an advanced set of helpful learning tools built into the instrument, letting you teach yourself how to play and perform.

Expressive Touch Like a Piano If you're buying a keyboard having piano in mind, you'll want Yamaha's Touch Response feature. On an acoustic piano, striking a key harder will produce a louder sound, striking it softer will produce a softer sound. With Yamaha's "Touch Response" the YPT-310 keyboard responds like an acoustic piano.
Backlit LCD Screen Since you spend a lot of the time at your keyboard looking at the LCD display screen, you might as well get one that's easy to see--like the backlit LCD in the YPT-310.
Portable Grand: One Press to an Amazing Stereo Grand Voice You're never more than a button push away from the most realistic piano sound in portable keyboards today. One press of the Portable Grand button resets the entire keyboard to a stereo-sampled piano--perfect for when it's time to practice. Yamaha is known around the world for the quality of our acoustic pianos and this attention to detail is evident as you enjoy the warmth and clarity of the YPT-310 Portable Grand piano. And of course, the keyboard includes a Sustain Pedal jack on the back for practicing and playing piano pieces.
Yamaha Education Suite (Y.E.S.): Learn How To Play Now! The YPT-310 has 102 built-in songs for you to learn to play, using the Yamaha Education Suite. The songs are separated into left and right hand parts, providing 7 levels of lessons plus a convenient chord dictionary.
Three keyboard lessons for each hand:
Lesson One--Listen & learn the melody or rhythm of a selected song
Lesson Two--Timing mode allows you to play the melody or chord by pressing any key using the correct timing
Lesson Three--Waiting mode stops the playback of a song until you find the correct note and then continues
Lesson Grading--monitors your progress as you practice each lessons two and three and gives you a grade.
Chord Dictionary--shows you how to play chords and tells you which chords you are playing by displaying the notes and chord name on the LCD screen.

Sound Effect Kit: Have Some Fun! If your student doesn't think playing keyboard is cool, wait 'til he hears this keyboard! Get the world of Hip Hop and all the hottest sound effects in your Yamaha keyboard. Push the Sound Effect button, hold down a key with your right hand, and you're groovin'!
Sound Quality: Real Stereo with Bass Ports (Not Just 2 Speakers) Some keyboards have two speakers but aren't stereo. Don't be fooled. Just because a keyboard has two speakers doesn't mean that it's truly stereo with two separate amplifiers. All Yamaha Portable Keyboards feature stereo-sampling technology.
Bass Ports--Port on each speaker that adds a powerful impact to bass sound reproduction
Stereo (Not just 2 Speakers)--We all know that stereo sound adds realistic character and spatial depth. But how can you tell if the portable keyboard you're looking to purchase is stereo or not? With Yamaha, the answer is simple. All Yamaha Portable Keyboards are true stereo.

32 Note Polyphony and 16 Part Multi Timbrel In electronic keyboards, the more sounds made at the same time--polyphony--the more memory is needed. Obviously, more is always better, because too little polyphony can cause dropouts in dense passages of music. Some keyboards at this price point have only 12-note polyphony. The YPT-310 has 32 notes of polyphony and will play back 16 different parts or sounds at once (16-part multi timbrel); enough for the most demanding needs.
106 Accompaniment styles and the One Touch Setting The YPT-310 comes with 106 built-in styles, waiting for you to play along with. It's just like having a built-in band. Call up your favorite style of music like Rock, Big Band or Country, press a chord or play Single Finger mode, and the YPT-310 will follow you through a piece of music, providing all of the drums, bass, piano, guitar, horn and string parts for you. And to make it easy and fun, when you select one of the styles, the One Touch Setting function will automatically configure keyboard parameters, such as voice selection and digital effects, to match that selected music style. In addition, you can transfer new Styles into the Flash ROM in the keyboard. Selections can be found at www.yamahamusicsoft.com.
482 General MIDI (GM) and XGLite Voices The YPT-310 has a large selection of professional sounding voices called XGlite. Only Yamaha's best keyboards have the capacity to support and reproduce Yamaha's XGlite voices. The result is amazing sound quality and almost 500 voices for you to choose from, offering even greater compatibility with both 3rd party and Yamaha XG software. For a look at some of the GM/XG music titles available from Yamaha, check out www.yamahamusicsoft.com.
Computer Connectivity and Flash ROM The YPT-310 comes with 102 built-in songs and an interactive lesson system, divided into left and right hand parts, for learning them. In addition, you have the ability to connect to a computer, download more songs from the Internet into the internal Flash ROM, and use all of the Yamaha Education Suite V5 features to help you learn to play them. Yamaha makes it easy to get connected with the new PC button. Now, instead of wading through function menus and fighting through a maze of selections, one button is your expressway to music on the web and your computer. You can connect to the MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) port on the back with an optional USB-MIDI Interface like the Yamaha UX16. Once connected, you can play your songs into the computer, edit them if necessary, and e-mail them to your friends and family. And with General MIDI (GM) and XGlite compatibility, song data always plays back with the correct sounds.
9 Digital Reverb Plus 4 Chorus Effects Yamaha has long been a world leader in digital signal processing technology. In fact, Yamaha professional audio products are found in most professional recording studios around the world. The YPT-310 takes full advantage of this know-how, giving you an extensive range of nine, top-quality reverb effects that simulate playing in everything from a small room to a large spacious concert hall and four chorus effects that add richness to electric pianos and guitars in particular.

Behringer MS16 Powered Studio Desktop Monitors Review

Behringer MS16 Powered Studio Desktop Monitors
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
SUBJECTIVE REVIEW: Behringer MS16 2-Way Active Personal Monitor System
Pros:
- Accuracy, soundstage & imaging!!
- Connectivity & Front Panel Controls (Right CH Speaker):
.... INPUT 1 (1/8" TRS) Connector
.... INPUT 2 (RCA Right & Left) Connectors
.... ADJUSTABLE 1/4" TRS Microphone Input - mixable w/stereo inputs for playback and vocal monitoring applications
.... 1/8" TRS HEADPHONE Connector w/auto-mute loudspeaker function.
.... FRONT PANEL Controls (Bass, Treble & Level)
Cons:
None except deep bass - which can be resolved by adding a powered-sub like I did!!! ;-)
NOTE: All subjective comments based on:
1) SPEAKER LOCATIONS:
.... a) Free-standing near-field monitor location, 4' apart, slightly tilted-in (closes walls 10') - Music by my Polaroid 30 GB MP3 player (NO powered-sub )
.... b) Keyboard: L & R location installation, slightly tilted-in (with & without Altec Lansing FX2021 powered-sub**)
**NOTE: Adding a powered-sub relieves the Behringer MS16 4" woofer speakers of reproducing the lower frequencies thus lowering the possibility of distortion or breakup when played louder, - 85 dBc to 90 dBc Fast SPL Peaks!
2) Critical listening SPL = approx. 85 dBc to 90 dBc Fast SPL Peaks measured @ 8' to 10' away from the speakers.
.... a) Radio Shack SPL Analog Meter: Dial = 80 or 90 / Weight = C / Speed = Fast
ACCURACY:
One of the Behringer MS16 hallmarks is the accuracy in reproducing encoded musical sounds from my MP3s, ... like, a violin sounds like a violin, a trumpet sounds like a trumpet, a tenor sax sounds like a tenor sax, a Grand Piano, like the Grand Piano that Diana Krall uses in her "Live in Paris" CD (I use to own a 6' Yamaha Grand in my HT/family room), etc. What is unusual for this price range, is the MS16 ability to reveal subtleties and the resolution of the high frequency characteristics within the encoded music/instruments, . . . they are just more evident with the Behringer MS16 vs. other speakers in this price and some costing more; i.e. with close mike recording of an acoustic guitar, you can hear the artist fingers (George Benson; Earl Klugh; Russ Freeman) sliding up and down the frets; you can tell that that two violins are playing a melodic line, rather than just one violin; the air harmonics off the crash or ride cymbal sounds, just like our Tama Rock Set w/Zildjian cymbals; Diana Krall breathing during some of her songs Intro ("Live in Paris" Music CD). Here - I do chalk up the sound quality to Behringer MS16 1.5" (38mm) Diameter High-Resolution Tweeter., which is a nice size for a small personal Studio near-field Monitors.
SOUNDSTAGE:
The left to right placements of instruments & voices are excellent, providing a precise, very wide, beyond the speakers soundstage. The Behringer MS16 front to back (depth) soundstage is also excellent, as well as the dynamic's resolution (soft vs. loud) in playing back the encoded instrument sounds which helps provide excellent location placement of the instruments. Though the front to back soundstage can be a result of how close the microphones were to the instruments, no doubt, the quality of the best recordings, will be revealed by this speaker and the opposite is also true, poor recordings will be revealed as poor. The Behringer MS16 plays back all my Jazz CD Music with relative smoothness, with no surprising in-between the eyes, unnatural frequency peaks because of it's super flat & wide Pro Monitor like frequency characteristics. I also own the JBL N24 w/4" woofers (JBL NSP1 PKG) which was raved by Brent Butterworth for its super midrange playback (voices) and in direct comparison, the Behringer MS16 is equal to task providing the same balanced, natural, clear unstrained playback! (Samples: "Francis Albert Sinatra & Antonio Carlos Jobim" 1967 Digital remastered DDD Music CD; Diana Krall "Love Scenes" & "The Look of Love" Music CD; Bob James "Fourplay" Music CD; David Benoit "Fuzzy Logic" Music CD [Album Of The Year - 2003 National Smooth Jazz Awards], etc.).
IMAGING:
Another characteristic that the Behringer MS16 displays is its ability to image the specific instruments across the soundstage, with a floating in front, side, quality sound presence comparable to some JBL PRO Studio Monitors, though its point source is more precise due to the smaller cabinet side. The Behringer MS16 low-diffraction front cabinet geometry feature curved cabinet edges to eliminate diffraction, which ensures precise imaging and localization. I love the Behringer MS16 ambience reproduction in my room, because it gave me the feeling that "you are there" and if the recording is from a live concert, the ambience provided the right amount of reflections to make you think your listening to the performance outdoors, or in the symphony hall. ("The Corrs - Live at the Royal Albert Hall" Music CD; Diana Krall "Live in Paris" Music CD).
BASS FREQUECY:
WITHOUT POWERED-SUB: (Bass adjusted slightly less than MAX @ the 5 o'clock position / Treble left flat)
The Behringer MS16 bass is rated down to 80 Hz, and after adjusting the Bass Control to near MAX (5 o'clock position), ... it easily matches my JBL 24s (Benchmarked down to 89 Hz -2.7 dB - Fronts location by Tom Nousaine for Sound & Vision Magazine) lowest rated frequency reproduction in my familiar jazz music (David Benoit, Bob James, Joe Sample, Diana Krall, etc.) MP3 encoded music is not as demanding as a keyboard or CD (pure digital recordings), so what I hear was more than acceptable @ 85 dBc Fast SPL Peaks! (louder than normal listening). The deep bass is lacking of course, which is expected for a 4" DIA woofer, but it wasn't MIA and actually sounded better than most free-standing speakers w/4" or 5" woofers. The upright bass (Diana Krall) and electric bass lines (Bob James "Fourplay" w/Nathan East on bass) reproduction was way above average and overall, ... it nicely filled my 20 x 30' room with well balanced, clean & smooth frequency jazz music.
WITH POWERED-SUB - YAMAHA PORTABLE GRAND KEYBOARD:
Reproducing a digital keyboard is demanding so to get that floor & air feeling bass SPL without distortion or breakup, I coupled the Behringer MS16 Speakers w/the Altec Lansing FX1021 2.1 Speaker System, or more specifically, Altec Lansing FX4021 Powered Subwoofer (w/Two 5.25" long-throw woofers in isobaric configuration). This unit is rated down to 32 Hz and takes care of the lower frequency duties. Matching the Altec Powered-sub to the MS16s took about 20 mins. using the Keyboard built-in MIDI DEMO files and by playing it personally! I'm finally happy with what I hear from my Yamaha DGX-505 88-key Portable Grand.
THE BOTTOM LINE:
If you want "budget" monitors that provides excellent imaging, revealing resolution, super flat & wide Pro Monitor like frequency characteristics, the Behringer MS16 is for you! At no time during my critical listening phase (w/85 dBc - 90 dBc Fast SPL Peaks) did I hear any distortion or breakup (with or without powered-sub) from my Behringer MS16 speakers!!!
- Although the following is an OPTION & NOT REQUIRED to ENJOY these powered speakers, you can add a powered-sub to round out the lower frequency foundation and once you balance the SPL between the powered-sub & MS16s, ... you've got a very nice killer setup for MP3, PC, Laptop, Keyboard & near-field Home Studio application @ a very reasonable price!
In my case, I'm guessing, that the Behringer & Altec powered-sub combination for my Yamaha Portable Grand Keyboard frequency response is approx. 40Hz - 18kHz ±5 dB in my 17' x 13' living room (see my attached Amazon photo's) and for the price, ... it just sounds GLORIOUS @ 85 dBc - 90 dBc Fast SPL Peaks!!!
Highly Recommended!!! (Another way to think about it is, ... you can't build a 16 Watt [2x 8 Watts] self-powered speakers like this for under $60 a pair!!!)
Background: Audiophile since 1980; retired Audio/Video dealer; retired semi-pro musician (piano, keyboard, acoustic / electric guitar, bass guitar & drums).
