(More customer reviews)My son who turned 2 the first of January has been attending a day care center where there is a Casio electric keyboard there. The provider has allowed him to play with the keyboard. Sometimes he plays on the keyboard for 45 minutes to an hour trying to sing, so when I saw that my first thouught was maybe he likes music so why not cultivate it. I purchased a Yamaha 235 for him for Christmasd and this stand with foot pedel. I was surprised of how sturdy it is and the fact that that he can climb up on the stool and play, he pushes all the buttons to change the music and trys to sing. Now everyday when I get home I encourage him to play and we have singalongs, we dont even turn on that stupid TV. I'm LOVING IT. Buy the way no one in the house knows how to play let long sing but we're learning with Gods help.

Yamaha PKBX2 Double X Portable Keyboard Stand Review

(More customer reviews)I had looked at numerous stands for my Yamaha keyboard and didn't want to spend a ton of money for a professional grade stand (at professional prices). With that in mind, the Yamaha PKBX2 Double X Portable Keyboard Stand is a good choice at $29.99. I had seen other stands that were not as sturdy (single X stands)and cost about the same price.
Tips for assembly:
- Don't read the instructions, just look at the enlarged image of the keyboard stand on Amazon and assemble the stand the way it's shown.
- The bolts for attaching the arms and legs come screwed in to the stand. Use the (included )Allen Wrench to remove them and then re-install them when you are putting it together.
PROS:
- Low price.
- Solid, sturdy stand.
- Works for just about any keyboard.
- The stand's height is fully adjustable, and can be easily changed in several seconds - without having to unscrew anything.
CONS:
- There is no way to attach a keyboard to this stand. No screws, bolts or straps are included, even though most (including my Yamaha) keyboards have pre-drilled holes for screwing the board to a stand. The keyboard simply sits on top of the stand. I was VERY disappointed about this.
- The included Allen wrench did not work for one of the bolts. The bolt came screwed in to the stand way too tightly to be removed using the included tool. The Allen Wrench only stripped the bolt, it did not loosen it. Luckily my husband had a better Allen Wrench of nearly identical size, and that one worked. Without it, we would not have been able to loosen the bolt.

Yamaha PSR-E413 61-Key Digital Keyboard Review

(More customer reviews)The PSR-E413 is Yamaha's next addition to their portable keyboard line. It was designed with the new musician in mind, and includes numerous learning tools (the Yamaha Education Suite being the most prominently featured) and "cheater" features (Yamaha Performance Assistance Technology let's you hit the wrong key and still sound correct). Unlike many other beginner level keyboards, however, the PSR-E413 has numerous features that will allow new musicians to grow into semi-professionals without having to buy a new instrument - 504 voices (instruments the keyboard can sound like), 100 arpeggio types, 165 preset styles, 30 preset songs, a pitch-bending wheel, and 5 song/6 track recording. Other common features such as "touch sense" (the keys can sound louder or softer depending on how hard they are pressed), a USB port, sustaining pedal port, and a headphone/output port are also present.
What all of that boils down to is simply this: the E413 is fun to play and sounds great. The price is generally within the acceptable realm for beginners, and the features make it something even those at a semi-professional level would like to play (though, in all honesty, most professionals are going to want a less portable 76+ key unit). After going to numerous music stores and online sources, this model ended up being the best fit for my budget and needs - I highly recommend it.
I have two complaints with the PSR-E413 as packaged. The first is that the music stand (which easily slides into two slots on the top-back of the unit) is made of cheap plastic, and looks like it will break easily. The second is that a number of additional items are needed to fully enjoy this instrument. The first thing you'll need is a plug-in power adapter (I was shocked that the keyboard didn't come with one) unless you want to spend hundreds of dollars on batteries. Next, you'll probably want a keyboard stand (a decent folding one costs anywhere from $20 - $60). An AB-type USB cable is necessary to connect the instrument to your computer and fully realize its potential. After that, a dust cover and case might also interest you. Finally, headphones and a foot switch/pedal should be considered, especially if you like being creative and don't live alone. Yamaha offers a few of these items in a special set called the Survival Kit B (it includes the power adapter, foot switch, headphones, and an extended warranty), but I don't recommend it, as the headphones and pedal it contains are of inferior quality.
Note: This model replaced the PSR-E403 as of May 2008. The two are extremely similar, with the E413 containing a few upgrades (165 vs. 155 styles; 100 arpeggio functions vs 50; etc..). The feel and most of the features of the two, however, are almost the same.

Finally, the sale came last week when the price was lowered by the seller.
I completed the transaction immediately.
It came in a nice box with the parts ready to be assembled.
It's light assembly took about 5 minutes.
The slots and screws were color coded so there's really no need to read the instruction.
The stand is so strong I could literally lie on it.
It supports my newly purchased Yamaha CP33 (40 lbs) nicely and won't shake while playing (being on carpet).
It can easily adjust the height (the very reason I bought this ergo-lock model) with a press of the adjust lever.
This is one of the best stands I saw in the stores.
Highly recommended.
We have two more of the same stand in our church. It is great.

On Stage KT7800 Padded Keyboard Bench Review

This one (KT7800) is a no-frills basic bench. Each leg has 3 holes for the pivot bolt. Height is adjusted by removing the pivot bolt and reinstalling it with two washers through a different pair of holes. This is not difficult, but if the intent is to adjust it several times a day for different members of the family, I'd choose a different style. The advantage of this design is once you set the height, it remains until you intentionally change it.
One side of the scissor base is permanently attached to the seat with brackets that allow it to pivot; the other side fits into 2 c-shaped brackets. To keep the legs from collapsing when you lift the bench off the floor, you hand tighten a bolt across the opening of each c bracket whenever you set it up; the bolts have plastic knobs. This works fine for most applications. But if I were assembling half a dozen of them several times a day, I'd prefer a single lever latch.
The larger KT7800+ has a different design for adjusting height, best understood by going to the onstagestands web site and entering "KT7800+" in the search box. While there, you might also want to take a quick look at the KT7800; Amazon often displays the wrong photo for this bench.
For home use, I'm happy with the KT7800. It's sturdy and comfortable, utilitarian in appearance with decent workmanship (China), folds for storage or travel, sets up and adjusts easily without tools. Cushion is a bit soft -- maybe too soft for playing guitar or other hand-held instruments. A good value.

Casio GSDX Deluxe Keyboard Stand Review

(More customer reviews)I thought I'd be luckier than most of the previous reviewers, but no; when my Deluxe Keyboard Stand was delivered, it was missing eight screws and eight grippers, thus making it impossible to assemble. I had to repack it and return it to Amazon. What a waste of time. I also noticed that it is designed so that, when seated, your knees hit the stand legs, making it almost impossible to use (should you ever get all the parts).
I have since bought a very strong, properly-designed stand by Kaman in a local store (already assembled). I suggest Amazon stop selling this Casio stand, as all the necessary parts often are not included.

(More customer reviews)I had been kicking myself for about 2 years, because I purchased an electronic keyboard with intentions of our son taking lessons in the future (he was only 2-years-old when we bought the keyboard).
I bought this stand hoping that 1. It would be sturdy enough to hold a full, 88-key, Casio Previa 100 easily and 2. Would be able to hold up to a 5-year-old, who has the tendency to kind of lean on tables and put his weight down on everything.
As soon as I opened the box, I was pleased. The stand "looked" sturdy and well made, but proved to require no assembly, just unfold, adjust the width and voila!
My one concern came to a screeching halt as soon as I put the keyboard stand in place. My one reservation was that if the angle of the legs were 45 degrees, that it might topple over easily. Keep in mind, I've got a 5-year-old running about and things get banged into. He is my live-in durability tester. However, all of my fears were put to rest in a matter of moments. I put the keyboard on the stand and noticed that the legs jet out at the sides just a bit, so there's no concern of the stand being knocked over to the side.
I do have to say that my stand is always stationary and is against a wall. I cannot really say how it would fair in another environment, but for our specific uses, it's absolutely perfect.
